CONCERT FOR PAKISTAN

A musical stalwart by any stretch of imagination. A guitar maestro
by a long chalk and a good Samaritan by all accounts,Salman Ahmed
needs no introduction in the cut throat and giddy world of Rock
music. A twenty year long and illustrious career tucked under
his belt and innumerable feathers of mega-selling albums embellished
on his hat, the forty something Doctor shows no signs ,whatsoever,
of exhaustion. Inarguably he is the Achiever of the Achievers
and as his life unfolds in USA,after a triumphant career with
Junoon,he continues making shock waves by teaching,writing,touring
and making music as Pakistan’s ambassador for Peace world wide
strictly off his own accord and love for the nation. His selfless
devotion has taken him places. From the largest arenas in the
world to the most prestigious events such as Nobel Peace Awards
where he mesmerized the scholars by his captivating Sufi tunes
in a one man, guitar swing sway solo performance,he has certainly
rocked them all. In wake of his rousing success as a documentary
maker,author(Rock and Roll Jihad) and propagator of peace ,Salman
Ahmed is again at the helm of affairs for his nation. That he
firmly believes is his Jazba Junoon!
Salman Ahmed aka Dr Rock n Roll is collaborating with worlds finest
musical heavy weights at the Concert For Pakistan at the United
Nations NY,USA on 12th sep 2009.That is a huge achievement, is
to say the least!
The Concert for Pakistan has been organized to raise awareness
and funds for the millions of Pakistanis who have been displaced
during the war between the Pakistani military and the Taliban.
On September 12th in New York City, artists will assemble at the
UN General Assembly to help that effort. The mega event will also
introduce THE 99 concept, show a sneak peak of the upcoming animation
that is being coproduced by media giant ENDEMOL and speak about
the significance of THE 99 in general and Hadya, the Pakistani
member of THE 99 in particular.
According to Salman Ahmed it is time to give back to the people
.The time is now!
